How to Create Message Templates

Save time with Quick Replies and message templates for your most common WhatsApp conversations.

Answering the same questions repeatedly is a waste of time. The Chat Quotient lets you create a library of Quick Replies so you can respond with one click.

What are Quick Replies?

Quick Replies are pre-saved message templates that you can instantly insert into any chat. They can include text, links, and even formatting.

Creating Your First Template

  1. Open the CQ Sidebar.
  2. Navigate to the Quick Replies tab.
  3. Click Add New Template.
  4. Define your Shortcut (e.g., /pricing) and your Message Content.
  5. Click Save.

Using Templates in Chat

There are two ways to use your templates:

  • The Slash Shortcut: Type / in your message box, followed by the template name (e.g., /welcome). A dropdown will appear—hit Enter to insert the text.
  • Sidebar Selection: Click the Quick Reply icon next to any template in your sidebar to insert it immediately.

Organizing Templates with Folders

If you have dozens of templates, organize them into folders.

  • Create folders like “Sales,” “Support,” or “Personal.”
  • This makes it easier to find the right message when you need it most.

Pro Tip: Personalization

While templates save time, adding the customer’s name after inserting the text makes the message feel more personal and less automated.
