Looking for the best CRM for small business? Compare the four main CRM types (all-in-one suites, sales CRMs, simple low-cost CRMs, and CRMs inside WhatsApp) and use a short checklist to pick one.
There is no single best CRM for small business. There are four kinds of CRM, each built for a different kind of team, and the right choice depends mostly on where your customers talk to you and how many people will use it. Pick the category first. The product comes second.

HubSpot, Zoho CRM and Salesforce sit here. They cover contacts, deals, email, reporting, automation and often marketing and support in one place.
These suit teams that expect to grow into several departments, or that need heavy customization. HubSpot has a free plan for up to 2 users. Zoho CRM has a free plan for 3 users, with its Standard edition listed at 800 rupees per user per month. Salesforce’s entry plan, Starter Suite, is $25 per user per month, and its Pro Suite is $100.
The weakness is setup. A suite gives you hundreds of options and expects someone to configure them. A five-person shop without an admin often ends up using a tenth of what it pays for. If you are weighing these head to head, the comparisons hub has detailed pages.
Pipedrive and Freshsales are the usual names. They put a visual deal pipeline at the center and leave out most of the marketing and service tools.
They work well for a small sales team that mostly wants to see every deal, its stage and its next step. Pipedrive’s Lite plan is about $14 per seat per month billed annually. Freshsales has a free plan, and its Growth plan is $9 per user per month billed annually.
The tradeoff is scope. When support, billing or marketing need the same customer record, you will be adding tools and connecting them.
Some tools are barely more than a contact list with notes and reminders. Spreadsheet-style CRMs and the free tiers of larger products fall here.
If you are leaving a spreadsheet and have fewer than a few hundred contacts, this is often enough. You get one shared record and follow-up reminders without a learning curve. You will probably outgrow it when you need several pipelines, reporting, or any automation.
Free plans have their own limits worth reading before you commit. We cover those in more depth in a separate guide to free CRM software.
Many small businesses sell and support customers almost entirely on WhatsApp. A traditional CRM makes that awkward: someone has to copy the conversation, or a connector has to sync it, and the record is only as good as the person remembering to update it.
A messaging-channel CRM works the other way round. The Chat Quotient is a standalone CRM that runs inside WhatsApp Web as a Chrome extension. The pipeline, lead notes, follow-up reminders, AI-drafted replies and chat summaries sit in a sidebar next to the conversation. It works on your existing WhatsApp number, with no Business API application or new number.
Its pricing, on the live pricing page: a free Basic plan (up to 20 leads, 1 pipeline), Standard at $12 per user per month ($10 billed yearly) with up to 100 leads, and Pro at $29 per user per month with unlimited leads and pipelines. Paid plans start with a free trial from the Chrome Web Store. See the pricing page for current limits.
It is not the right pick for everyone. It does not sync with HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho or any other CRM, it does not connect to Google Calendar, and it has no team analytics such as response-time reports. It runs on a computer in Chrome, and each WhatsApp number is handled separately. If your customers mostly reach you by email or phone, or you need deep reporting across departments, a broad suite is the better fit.
